About Us
Who We Are
A faith-based not-for-profit organisation committed to advancing Christian values, supporting Christian mission, providing pastoral care, and strengthening community connections through education and engagement.
Our Organisation
Rooted in faith, present in the community
St Matthew’s GMW is a not-for-profit organisation established under the auspices of St Matthew’s Anglican parish in Greystanes and Merrylands West. Our role is to support faith-based activities, compassionate outreach, and community-focused initiatives that bring people together.
Our work reflects the belief that spiritual encouragement and practical support can contribute to healthier, more connected communities. We serve both the members of our faith community and the wider community of western Sydney, welcoming people of every background.
Our Mission
Advancing faith, strengthening communities
To advance Christian faith and strengthen communities through religious activities, Christian mission, pastoral support, and accessible educational opportunities.
Our Vision
A welcoming and compassionate community
A community where individuals can grow spiritually, build meaningful relationships, develop practical skills, and find encouragement in their everyday lives.
Our Core Values
What guides everything we do
Faith
We draw inspiration from Christian teachings and the importance of living with purpose, humility, and compassion.
Compassion
We believe in treating every individual with kindness, empathy, and respect.
Community
We value relationships that foster trust, belonging, and mutual understanding.
Education
We recognise learning as a meaningful way to develop confidence, independence, and stronger community participation.
Service
We seek to put our values into practice through meaningful support and engagement.
Our Approach
Spiritual encouragement, practical involvement
Our approach brings together spiritual encouragement and practical community involvement. By supporting Christian mission, providing pastoral care, participating in religious activities, and offering everyday English learning opportunities, we aim to respond to both spiritual and practical needs.
We believe that lasting community relationships are built through listening, understanding, and consistent acts of care.
